Day Two: Home

We’ve been back home a couple of hours. As we were going through the mail, I came across a wedding “save the date” and an invite from a friend to happy hour. Sigh.

The Voice is pretty loud at the moment. In these early days it’s hard to imagine life without this compulsive desire for wine. But I know it’s possible because it went away the last time. I just need to be patient.

Drinking is so much easier than being patient.

No worries though – home is a wine free zone.

  1. Yes, the first few days are not easy! Just stay home if you can. If you have to grocery shop try to do it earlier in the day when the Voice is less persistent. You can do it!

  2. Your own words hold so much wisdom. “I know it’s possible because it went away the last time. I just need to be patient.”
Glad you are home. Glad home is a safe space for you.
I agree that you can say no to whatever you need to say no to.
This is a vulnerable, tender time. It’s not only OK, but imperative to care deeply and fully for yourself right now.
