Day 75: Sharpening the Saw

What better way to spend a week off of work than to do some work on me.

I haven’t read Stephen Covey’s famous book, but while online today I came across  “Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw.” It goes like this:

Sharpen the Saw means preserving and enhancing the greatest asset you have–you. It means having a balanced program for self-renewal in the four areas of your life: physical, social/emotional, mental, and spiritual. Here are some examples of activities:
Physical: Beneficial eating, exercising, and resting
Social/Emotional: Making social and meaningful connections with others
Mental: Learning, reading, writing, and teaching
Spiritual: Spending time in nature, expanding spiritual self through meditation, music, art, prayer, or service

Sounds to me like a recipe for a great week!

Today I feel grateful for…

1. those cute running shoes waiting so patiently (see day 42).

2. my kids when they talk and laugh together.

3. scented candles.

  1. Continue to be inspired, motivated, and strengthened by your thoughts and journey. Today’s really hit home with me. Day 2. Sober. Today I am grateful for getting to Day 2. And so much more, but that has seemed so unreachable, it humbles me.
