Day 89: Approaching 100

I ordered my 100-day celebratory treat last night. Hopefully it will arrive in time to post a pic on day 100. I’m very excited about it! That’s all I’ll say for now, but it’s a great reminder of the power of a reward system. There’s no way I’ll be drinking in the next eleven days. 😄

Shall we plan to celebrate every 100 days? I don’t see why not! The way I see it is this – not drinking in this world we live in is difficult. For lots of reasons. And 100 days of sober living (or any number of days really) is that much time spent living a healthier life. If that doesn’t warrant a reward, then I don’t know what does.

And frankly, anyone who disagrees can go pound sand as far as I’m concerned. 😉

Happy Sober Sunday,

jen

  1. I definitely counted and marked 100 days with a treat just for me.
Then, curiously, counting days sort of fell by the wayside. But not marking the continuation of my sober journey, by any means.
I quit at the autumn equinox last year. At the spring equinox, I celebrated again. Observing the seasonal shifts, for me, feels like being in tune with naturally flowing cycles of the Earth.
The more I move along in sobriety, the more it also feels like acknowledging deep internal seasons and rhythms.
Life was like this with wine too. The difference is now I can feel all that comes along in a real way. Now the flow feels organic and more in tune with life.
The passage of sober time, in any fashion, is surely worth celebrating!
Can’t believe you are fast approaching 100 days, Jen! It must feel so satisfying.
    Have a lovely week.
    Deb
