Day 100: time for celebration

There were no actual fireworks. But there was a little yoga, some time off from work, and cake. And the sun shone all day. And there was a made bed, a scented candle, and nice music.

So here at long last is my treat, made by Lizzy James in California, with a tree of life charm.

The tree of life is a symbol of a fresh start on life, positive energy, good health and a bright future. It also symbolizes our growth into a beautiful and unique person (having endured many winters, storms, and other life struggles).

Worries about my health were a big reason behind my quitting. I felt like I was killing myself a little each day, floating along on a slow river of misery. Now, a healthier me, I plan to wear the bracelet as a reminder that I choose life. I choose living over numbing. I choose to create a brand new me, stronger, wiser, and perhaps a bit weathered.

By the way, if you love this bracelet as much as I do, you can use my referral link to get a 30% off discount. They hand assemble each bracelet to fit you perfectly (you measure your wrist). You get to choose the color of your leather cord, charm, bracelet details, etc. This style is called “April.” But they have tons of other choices.

Can you tell I’m happy with my purchase? 😉

Thank you all for being here, reading, commenting, cheerleading. Absolutely no one in my face to face life understands how big a deal this is, how hard it can be sometimes, or even the rewards sobriety has to offer. But I know you get it. And that makes all the difference.

Now, on to day 200.

  1. Congratulations on 100 days! What a gorgeous treat and a beautiful reminder of your new way of living.

My day 100 is Wednesday next week, need to think of a treat to mark the occasion. Scented candles, yoga, lush bath bombs are all a possibility.

Here’s to the next 100 days!

  2. Congratulations! 100 days is a huge deal. I absolutely love the bracelet and may have to get one too. I am not a big commenter but I read blogs every day and yours really resonates with me. You articulate so clearly and simply what this journey is really like. You’re right – people who don’t get it don’t get it. Finding those who do get it in the blog community is what made the difference for me. I am at day 706 and I can promise that it gets much easier. Well done and enjoy the day! As Lotta Dann says, you are brave and amazing for what you are doing. Never forget that.
